Old School Noxzema still relevant??? PART 2

Sooo.... its been about a week of using noxzema as an overnight face mask, and while I will say its a great face cleaner for the money, I won't say its a miracle worker.

I put a good layer of it one every night and washed it off in the shower in the morning. It dried in about 20 minutes into an barley there film, but I plunged on and went to bed.

When I washed it off in the morning it lathered up like facewash no problem, which was pretty amazing. So i gave my face a little light rub down with my wash cloth as I cleaned it off.

RESULTS FOR MY SKIN: same as any other face regimen/face wash

I still have some acne, I still have spots of combination oily and dry. I will say my face feels smoother in general though, I am sure thats due to the eucalyptus oil in the noxzema eating up those dead skin cells.

I will continue to use the tub because hell, I paid 6$ for it, and I'm no waster.

Will I invest in another tub? probably not, unless it makes this big turn around in my skin as I continue to use it, which if it does I will be updating.

OLD SCHOOL STILL RELEVANT: well I haven't completely given up hope that old school remedies aren't relevant today. But I am still on the search for a good face wash whether old or new to deal with my combo mild/moderate acne skin. I don't think thats so much to ask???!!!

Old School Noxzema still relevant???

So as I struggle with my on again off again smooth acne free face, I started thinking..... There are so many women out there much older then me who have been dealing with this forever and some of them look amazing. So what't their secret? well then it hit me, I need to find a product thats been around for forever tried, tested, and proved.

So I peruse the aisles and something in a blue tub starts screaming my name NOXZEMA, its been around for forever and I know many women swear by it. I remember a long lost aunt wearing it at night when she went to bed.

So if it has been on the market for so long it can't be all bad right???
well I'm going to give it a shot and see how things go. Soooooo here I am my first night wearing my noxzema mask and I will keep you all updated on my progress.

So we have something to compare too, I have mild to moderate acne with some dark marks and combination skin. I also have dermatitis along my hair line, in my eyebrows, and along the sides of my nose.

My fingers are certainly crossed that this turns out to be the best decision I should have made ages ago......

Beginners beauty blunder- eyeliner.

Although I am no longer a teenager, I only recently felt really compelled to wear makeup. Being a beginner means I have had many makeup application blunders.

Young or old if you are new to makeup don't despair and be realistic. You will need practice and trial and error to learn how and what best fits your face.

My biggest most recent struggle has been eyeliner. I struggled to make straight lines and to keep the liner close to my lash line. However over the past couple of months I have learned some tricks and have mastered keeping a steady hand.
Quick tips based on what I have learned. Try to take the line in parts from corner to your iris (colored part of eye) then across your iris then from iris to outside corner. Have a light hand, you can always go back over to make it thicker, but it hard to take away. If using pencils which is what I use. Keep them sharp. Just like in grade school. Dull pencils don't write.

Best thing I learned is while your starting out if your lines tend to be jagged don't despair. Get a straight edge eyeliner brush and drag it across the eyeliner before it sets. Take one lid at a time. This will help to blur your jagged edges until you can practice making perfectly straight lines. Plus it makes the eyeliner appear smokey which is super in right now anyways.

Happy practicing.

Chronicles of the creamy crack

So as of a couple of months ago I am trying to grow out my relaxer, which I have been getting relativity consistently for 12/15 years or so. I got maybe 1 inch or so of new growth and I am already going crazy and only wearing my hair pulled back.

I have googled and googled solutions but everything involves so much work. Blow dry, flat iron, roller set, and wrapping are just way too much maintenance for me. I know I know. I am a lazy bum. I did break and relax just the aides of my hair with a drugstore relaxer. I have such nappy sides and this has helped it lay down.

I think I will continue with this technique but switch to a better relaxer. I need to get my hands on a lye relaxer so I don't have to throw away the extra. Rule of thumb- if it needs and activator you probably shouldn't store it. Most Lye relaxers don't need activators so store away ladies and gents.

So as of today I am officially campaigning, it's 2013 shouldn't there be some futuristic pill or something that lets us change our hair at will?
